The exclusive Lustenberger & Dürst SA cheese specialties from Hünenberg Lake are among the big winners of the World Cheese Awards 2016 in Spanish San Sebastian. Our Lustenberger line received two awards: The Lustenberger 1862 aromatic and savory was awarded a Silver Award and the fruity and tangy version received a bronze medal.
The other Lustenberger & Dürst SA specialties also had a reason to be pleased - they also received great prizes. Especially our LeGruyère AOP Antique Langrüti - it was the only Swiss cheese added to the Top 16 list making it the best of all Swiss cheeses! In addition it was awarded Super Gold as one of 66 cheeses. There were over 3000 cheeses submitted from all over the world!
Our exclusive Jura Montagne cheese specialty also received Super Gold. And our Fior delle Alpi, the jewel of the Swiss mountains, was awarded Super Gold. The Silver Medal went to our specialties Château Heitenried, Lustenberger 1862 aromatic and savory and Sbrinz AOP. The Lustenberger 1862 fruity and tangy and the Emmental AOP Seléction each received bronze awards.
The World Cheese Awards, organized by the "Fine Food” Guild, was held from16 - 18 November in Spanish San Sebastian. 250 experts tasted and rated over 3000 cheeses from all over the world during the three-day event.
